Question 1

Is time tracking mandatory in Austria?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Employers must record working hours (incl. breaks) seamlessly.

Question 2

How long must records be kept?

Accepted Answer

At least one year, often 7 years for tax purposes. stemplr handles archiving.

Question 3

Is an Excel sheet sufficient?

Accepted Answer

Theoretically yes, but it lacks audit-logs and is prone to errors.

Question 4

Are breaks really mandatory?

Accepted Answer

Yes, after 6 hours of work, a 30-minute break is legally required.

Question 5

Does stemplr meet legal requirements?

Accepted Answer

Yes, including break deductions, public holidays, and overtime calculation.

Question 6

How much does stemplr cost?

Accepted Answer

Basic starts at EUR 29, Pro at EUR 49, and Enterprise at EUR 149 per month. Additional active employees, extra kiosk licenses, and the Planning or Mileage add-ons are shown transparently on top.

Question 7

Can I add Planning, Mileage, or Expenses later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Planning, Mileage, and Expenses are all standalone add-ons that can be activated at any time on top of your existing stemplr plan — no contract changes or data loss.

Question 8

How do included seats and kiosks work?

Accepted Answer

Each base plan includes a defined number of seats and kiosk licenses. A kiosk license activates kiosk mode on one device — hardware is not included. If your team needs more, stemplr only bills the additional active employees or licenses above the included amount.

Question 9

What is Kiosk Mode?

Accepted Answer

Kiosk Mode turns a shared tablet or touch screen into a clock-in terminal. Employees tap to start or stop their shift — no personal device required. Ideal for workshops, warehouses, and retail locations. Each kiosk license covers one device. If you need matching hardware or NFC tags, these can be ordered directly from stemplr.

Question 10

Can stemplr handle vacation requests and sick leave?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Employees submit leave requests directly in the app. Managers approve or decline from the dashboard. Sick certificates can be uploaded digitally, and the system tracks what is still missing.

Question 11

Does the Planning add-on replace separate scheduling software?

Accepted Answer

For most SMEs, yes. The Planning module covers shift scheduling, team assignments, and basic dispatching. It is designed to work alongside time tracking — not as a standalone tool.

Question 12

How does AI-assisted planning work?

Accepted Answer

Describe an assignment by voice or text. stemplr recognizes the time, project, and team members, asks for missing details, and prepares a draft. Nothing is saved until you review and confirm the prefilled planning form.

Question 13

Does AI save changes automatically?

Accepted Answer

No. AI creates drafts for review. You stay in control and confirm every planning entry yourself.

Question 14

What other AI features are planned?

Accepted Answer

Additional AI commands and assisted research workflows are gradually being tested in Early Access. Intelligent preparation of entire weekly plans with orders and capacity is planned as a future expansion.

Question 15

How does digital mileage logging work?

Accepted Answer

With the Mileage add-on, employees log trips directly in the stemplr app — including route, purpose, and vehicle. Records are stored digitally and can be exported for accounting and tax purposes.

Question 16

How does expense management work?

Accepted Answer

With the Expenses add-on, employees photograph receipts directly in the app, log per diem allowances, and carry over mileage costs from the logbook. Managers review and approve expense claims with one click. Accounting receives payroll-ready exports — no manual consolidation, no lost receipts.

Question 17

Is stemplr suitable for multi-location businesses?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Teams across different sites, vehicles, or job locations can all track time within one stemplr account. Managers get a consolidated view across all locations.

Question 18

What industries does stemplr work best for?

Accepted Answer

stemplr is used by businesses in construction, trades, field services, retail, logistics, and production. Any company with hourly workers, shift-based teams, or compliance obligations in Austria will benefit from it.

Question 19

Can employees use stemplr on their own phones?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The stemplr mobile app works on iOS and Android. Employees can start, pause, and finish work on the go and assign time to projects. Standard clock-in and clock-out do not record GPS location evidence.

Question 20

How does stemplr export data for payroll?

Accepted Answer

You can export time reports to Excel or PDF with one click. Specialized DATEV and BMD payroll formats are in preparation; no release date has been confirmed.

Question 21

Can I connect stemplr to Claude or another AI assistant?

Accepted Answer

Yes. AI access connects stemplr directly to an assistant such as Claude so you can get things done by chatting: log hours, create tasks, check your vacation balance or open a ticket. Sign-in uses your normal stemplr login – you never hand your password to the assistant.

Question 22

Can the AI see my colleagues' data?

Accepted Answer

No. The assistant always acts as the signed-in user and only sees data within that user's role – an employee therefore only sees their own hours, tasks and balances. When connecting you also choose which areas are shared, and you can disconnect at any time.
